A Raining Day 11/12/2009

Just had prayer meeting at home with Rosa.  We read the story of Abraham and Issac and discussed how Abraham was faithful and obedient to God.  So, we too are to be likewise. And that is exactly the approach we have taken in this time of Rosa’s surgery. That God’s will be done and no matter what, He gets the honor and glory.

Rosa is resting well and doing exactly as the doctor has instructed.  You wouldn’t know she has been through BRAIN surgery just by looking at her.  But she certainly knows it because she has the staples in her head to prove it and she physically can tell.  Nevertheless, she is doing well and I am proud of her.  We thank God for His blessing and allowing us to be able to share in His glory, together.

I’m sorry, I wrote a post earlier and I thought that I had published it.  Today, Rosa has set up for an hour and a half.  She has eaten well both at breakfast and lunch.  She set in a chair and got a bird bath at the sink. And now she is ready to read a little.  I am amazed at how well she is doing and we just praise the Lord.  The doctor’s nurse told us this morning that she will most likely would leave the hospital tomorrow and go to an off-site for a couple of days.  If anyone would like to speak to Rosa you can call us at 919-681-4102 or my cell 252-904-6309.  Roy

I just left Rosa at about 9:00 p.m. and she was looking great to me.  The swelling in her face had gone down and her eyes were more open.  She still had a slight headache but overall felt good and remembered myself and Tess visiting with her after the surgery.  She was asking if it was still Thursday or Friday.  I just want to let everyone who has been so faithful to pray and send words of encouragement through Facebook and in response to this blog have blessed me tremendously.  I plan to read every one of them tomorrow when we are in a room together.

We prayed together before I left her tonight and gave God praise, honor and glory.  Then we praised Him for all of you and the miracle that He has given us all.  I am thankful to Him that the love of my life and I will spend many more wonderful years together.

Rosa got to her room shortly after 7 p.m.  The angiogram and embolization went well and they were  to cut the blood supply to the tumor in half.  They were pleased with that and said it looked good.  Her surgery is scheduled for around 11:00 a.m. Thursday.  She should leave the room around 8:30 a.m.  I know that the prayers will continue and the results will be great.  Thanks to all the faithful.

We were delayed due to an emergency that came in ahead of Rosa, so she is actually about 2 hours behind. So I’m sitting here waiting and know that God is watching over her with His divine will.  Please keep praying.

Rosa is in radiology right now.  She is having an angiogram/embolization procedure.  They are checking he blood flow to the brain with contrast and looking for the blood supply to the tumor.  If they can find the blood flow to the tumor they will inject plastic particals to stop that so there will be less chance of bleeding during the surgery.  So just pray for her at this time.  As I am even writing this there has been an emergency and she is on hold, but they will get her soon. Thanks to everyone. Roy

Today Rosa will under go a pre-op, angiogram and admission into the hospital.  A long day ahead of us before we find out what time the surgery is.  But we know that our Lord is before us and we are trusting in Him for His glory.  Just glad to have Him on our side. “Priceless”.

A New Chapter in Rosa’s Health 10/28/2009

Last year when we found out about Rosa’s CML we also discovered that she had a tumor on her brain.  It was call a menegoma and was an incidental find.  We were told that it was not attached to anything and that it was a slow-growing, none malignant tumor.  Therefore we just assumed that we were not to worry about it at the time and deal with the CML.  Well recently we have found out that the tumor had grown twice its original size in one year and is not pressing down on her brain causing some problems at this time and will continue to grow at a faster than normal rate and cause even more severe problems.  It’s got to come out!  But not without some complications that could occur during surgery.  It’s not a high risk surgery but because it is on the brain Rosa could suffer bleeding, blood clot, and even death due to complications that could occur during any surgery.  So we are once again reaching out for prayer.  Prayer for her on Thursday, November the 5th which is the day of her surgery and know that whatever happens, we will give God the glory.  Thanks
